He died much younger than he is now. Towering tsunamis, shorelines too close, and here we were chasing upward- all the way to the attic. The windows crashed- in the attic we learned we were already gone. She told us. Flattened knowing we were over without knowing what was next.

Generally I’m able to evade any eyeballs whilst finding photo moments on my backwoods adventures. But! This one got me.

but I think it’s more than nothing.
We were driving slowly on a back road
when I spotted the Tree looking at us.
I passed by.
Stopped, put the truck in reverse, and took the photo.
