Hello and Goodbye

I think I’ll take a drive. The sky looks good today. Oh! I was able to make a muscle with my left bicep for the first time since the injury. Fun stuff! I ran into my wife’s office to show her my muscle. Yea. I’m like that. A bit of a child sometimes. But, I do it with flair so it’s all good! Seriously though, it was a big moment. Progress is good. Anyway, I hope everyone is having some form of fun. And if not, I invite you to create a form of fun. Even if you’re grumpy.

Gotta go drive, bye~!

I know this is a random post. I have a bunch of energy and simply wanted to say howdy to everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

Be as well as you can

If you can smile at the smallest of things, you’re onto it. We have a hurricane, now turned tropical storm, headed toward us. Currently the tropical storm is traveling at 28 MPH and is foretasted to impact us later tonight, at around 10 PM.

It’s possible the storm will produce a few tornadoes in our region. That has my interest. I enjoy observing severe weather. I don’t want the storm to damage homes, or injure anyone, however Mother Nature will do what she does. We’re prepared and power may be lost, or not, either way we are ready and I smile at the approaching entertainment. It’s very still outside.

Be as well as you can.

Cheers!

poem

The sun was out, it was warm,
and the wind was alive-
pushing long stalks of corn
eastward toward the river.
I remember the smell,
and the sight of the dust following
my footsteps; having created a small
amount of life in my wake.
I smiled as I reached the riverbank.
I smiled as I sat on a large rock,
and I smiled as I opened my thoughts.

I’m on the writing trail!

I’m 700 words into my new Horror Story, “The Stump Maker,” I can’t wait to submit this! I know how it’s going to end….it’s just a matter of letting the words flow and filling in the dots. …

I hope everyone is doing as good as possible and that your day is treating you well. And please, remember, it’s a beautiful life if we let it be, even when it rains.

On Being You

Just in case you need to hear this today-

Don’t ask permission to live your life. Walk with purpose, smile with meaning, and create impact. It’s a new day and there’s only one you to have it.

I hope you have the best day possible.

Poem –

I’m addicted to my son’s safety.
I think it’s possible that I’m constantly
thinking about his health and safety
because of my own childhood trauma-
of which he does not have.
Maybe it’s time I let images
of him laughing and running,
with his gleaming eyes and bouncing hair,
flood my thoughts. My trauma is not his.
I need to remember this and to be
better about it. I have such a deep
connection, and love for my son, that I can’t
fathom how any parent or guardian
couldn’t. And there I go, not being
better about it. Back to him running,
and laughing, and being loved.
