  1. I think it depends on perspective. For some, it’s the first act of life. For others, the act of conception is not the first act of life as that life had no part in its conception.

    In another book on the same subject, the question was not whether the first act was conception or breath, but rather the first act of life being the first time one comprehends any part of the world around it – whether it is a world full of life and love or one full of hiding and fear. For them, they spoke of their first act of life being snuggled warm to their mother’s breast whereas the first act of their child’s life was to be cast-out of their homes, their lives, their very humanity.

    So it’s perspective, even on that subject.
