Hello,
Have any of you used the ‘copy’ function within our admin?
If you have, can you share the Pros/Cons you’ve experienced?
Thank you!
Matt

No, I haven’t.

I will test it soon, but hoping I can gain info from people who have already put it to use.

It pans out well. Unless you’ve some other font, in which case there is a paragraph of unwanted bullshit you have to remove. If you use the verse format that is.

Watt, do the old comments and likes appear in the new post? Thanks, Watt, appreciate the info.

Oh, did you mean republishing posts?

No, I mean the ‘copy’ function and I believe I assumed that it would republish old posts. I think it’s me who doesn’t understand. I’ll just need to jump in and give it a try.

I’ve never used the ‘copy’ function before. Do tell how it pans out.

Matt, I have used it and NO it does not transfer over comments. It creates a new post with just the content (text and images, if applicable).

Hey Tara, what did you find (if anything) useful about using this??

The only reason I used it was for when I write series and I just wanted all the stuff to transfer over.. but generally I don’t really use it. I don’t find it saves me much time. It never takes me more than a couple minutes to post anyway and I found, for me, the copy method takes just as long.

hmm..same with me. If I post, it generally takes a few minutes. Thanks for all of the info

Sure thing

Hi, Matt. I tried it a while ago and from what I recall, only the post itself, title, tags and categories are copied, no comments. Then you can edit all you want.

Was it in any way useful for you to utilize? Thank you, Ana.

I wanted to republish and old post, but replace the images and add one more paragraph, so yes, it was an easy way to do it. The “likes” don’t get transferred to the new post either.
