      • I do to. I wish it wasn’t this way, but it is, and I’m still, trying to make sense of it. Still I remain hopeful that our human story does have a happy ending. Meanwhile, I have no more contact with my family.
We do the best we can.

      • Aww thank you, Matt. That just put a great big smile on my face. I appreciate it.
Sometimes I do think-to hell with them-and everything. What’s the point? I’d like to throw everything away and just….just what?

But then there is that hope thing. That beautiful hope…I don’t have the answers—so I keep writing-hoping one day something meaningful comes out.

Someone said to me a while back—“powerful poetry, I’m sorry you had to experience such suffering.” To which I replied—without the suffering there would be no powerful poetry to write. Gratitude.

Oh gosh I’m getting long winded!

Be of good cheer, Matt and don’t lose heart. Be the best father you can be. Trust me—in the bigger picture—that little girl will appreciate your efforts. Ask me how I know. 🙂
